I had my final shift at work yesterday and of course I got stuck with the 9am - 6pm (i.e. open - close) shift. I'm not going to go into details on how terribly sick I felt yesterday morning, but it was bad, really bad and involving a near miss on public transport. But my day got better and time flew by, it barely felt like a 9 hour shift.
I'm somewhat sad that this job ends now. Before I began working there I already started regretting applying and accepting the offer for a job. The idea of having to work with not even a single person that I knew scared me half to death. And my first few shifts weren't the best, nor were the shifts I worked while having some sort of bacterial cold (that I was twice inflicted with in the space of 3 weeks). But all in all I'm glad I went out of my comfort zone. I am inherently shy, one on one with most people I can handle but put me in a group of people I don't know well and I probably won't even speak a word.
Honestly, I think that the past month and a half has really made me more confident in my socialising abilities. Makes me realise that I can actually function on my own. I know that probably sounds sad since I'm already 20 years of age. I always thought I would just grow out of my shyness/awkwardness, pretty stupid of me hey? Things don't change unless you're pro-active about going about making a change.
Love Lisa.
