Why do I keep trying when I'm getting nowhere.
So i try to be friendly and conversational.
I thought I'd start off on a safe topic, surely something that can't trigger an argument, by telling my parents that I sold one of my textbooks and the rest are on sale.
They say 'don't you need them' I say 'no they were only for first sem'. And I thought since they want me to tell them about my life, I tell them how pointless it was to buy textbooks.
They say 'no surely they were useful'. I inform them that 'there were 2 that I never even touched because they was so much information given out in the lectures'.
They start harping on about 'maybe if I used textbooks more I'd see how helpful they were'.
I tell them that I did try initially, I wrote notes for all the relevant biology chapters in the first few weeks but it was a waste of time.
They said 'no wonder I struggled so badly, and felt like I didn't do well in exams, clearly I still should have read the textbooks more'.
So this of course makes me feel utterly indignant because I slaved away studying for months but in their eyes, I barely tried.
Can I get even an ounce of support for once? Guess not.
Welcome to my life,
Love Lisa.
PS. many typos discovered after reading through, whoa my English is definitely deteriorating after high school...
My parents are like that too, they think I never even tried to study.
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree, textbooks were such a waste of money because I didn't even need to use them!
Gah!
