Earthquakes, Huxaburgers, Aka Tombo & Chapel

Why hi there lovely readers, allow me to recap since my last post up until the 21st of June.

Who else felt the Earthquake in Melbourne on June the 19th! It's the first one I have experienced as Australia generally does not experience earthquakes so to everyone who lived in the inner suburbs/west side I'm sure they only felt a rumble and slight shaking as I did, and if anything it was more exciting than scary. Though I'm sure it would have been a vastly difference experience for those at the epicentre (Moe, over 100km from where I live) as it was 5.3 in magnitude I believe, something around that.  Which, to anyone who lives in an earthquake ridden country, is probably nothing.

On the 21st of June, I met up with the lovely Sylvia for lunch at Huxtaburger on Smith Street. I'd never heard of the place until that day and damn were the burgers SO good. Perhaps I was particularly hungry as well. But the meat patty had a very distinct flavour but I'm not specialist on seasonings/herbs so I can't describe what it was. It was good, that's all you need to know.

The 21st was also the day of Tracey's birthday, so we all went to Aka Tombo on Greville St.

Tracey, myself and Jenny.

Sushi platter to share, complimentary of Tracey. Unfortunately, I, being the freak that doesn't eat sushi, could not share in everyone else's enjoyment. I did try the egg sushi thing on the platter. I'm not sure of what it was called but it was egg, with rice and a bit of seaweed to keep it together. I did, however, still pull off the seaweed ha. Must say that egg was really tasty, which means a lot since I generally don't like egg unless its scrambled and extremely fried.

My Chicken Teriyaki

Tracey's Wagyu Beef.

After eating and dessert (which I thought I had pictures off, I'll have to go look for them). We headed off to Lucky Coq on Chapel to celebrate (for want of a better word) Pauline's month long trip in Europe which she is now currently undertaking. The best part of the night was when Daniel turned up unexpectedly at Lucky Coq. Initially I was annoyed because he had ignored my texts for the past 3 hours, or, he says he doesn't look at his phone (excuses excuses -__-).

When I was with Sylvia I had planned on leaving a short while after getting to Lucky Coq but perhaps it was a mixture of me being excited to see Daniel and me just generally having more energy at night. That I decided to go to One Six One with everyone. Got back home around 1.30am so not too late at all.

That was one of the most eventful days I've had in a long time. It was nice seeing all my high school friends again but also Lucky Coq and One Six One seems to be the place of choice to go on a Thursday night so I also happened to see people from high school that were in different year levels. That was probably something I would have liked to avoid because these are people who know who I am and I know who they are but we've basically never spoken so it's not like we're going to start out of no where now. I can be incredibly socially awkward.

That's all for now, there will be another post in one or 2 days.

Christmas Dinner @ Emily's

Rerun of last year's Christmas shenanigan's at Emily's house. It was great catching up with high school friends, even though many I do not see on a regular basis, I still feel comfortable around them. We had a bbq and an assortment of desserts, yum!

Oh and some of my friends like my nails (previous post), which is reassuring because I've gone through days of hating them and thinking it was the worst decision to paint them like that. Well they've chipped pretty badly now (probably not that bad if I asked a normal person). But I've become obsessed with having chip free, smooth nail polish. So my next Christmas nails should be up in a few days.

Makeup and hair for the night (hair looks brown due to me forgetting that i bumped up the power level of the flash)

Sweet Doctor

So I look a little bit like an alien but I don't have any photos with my hair down. I'm starting to use my colours in my makeup, the below was using a blue and a dark navy colour. I know the photo is washed out ut it was so dark originally you could see nada.
I only did one eye because the other was hurting incredibly for about 4 days straight :\ It was the most irritating pain, like as if liquid liner was leaking into my eye, even though I had zero makeup on.

I saw my long lost friend Miss Sylvia on Wednesday night, and had a lovely dinner and drinks with her. Even though I barely see her these days I can still talk to her about anything. I am going to miss this girl when she goes to the UK!

Another Chadstone a few days ago. This time we did actually buy from the Sweet Dr. because last time we only bought from the Nutshack :P Second picture is him discussing with the lady who runs the stall about which flavour of sour balls was the best :3
Oh my lord, the sour raspberry candies that Daniel picked are sour. Way more sour than anything I've tasted.Which I really underestimated because Daniel's face did not change at all when he ate one, while oh I can tell you my face puckered up like you wouldn't believe.

And for me, I chose some giant sour coke bottles hehe.

Food Updates, Pizza, Father's Day + Dinner

In chronological order:

07/08/2011 - The night mum made me make pizza, one thing I'm not too bad at. Albeit my toppings are probably far from authentic but who cares if it tastes good.

Father's Day Brunch ft. Big Breakfast, Salmon Roll, Pear Pancakes. Those pancakes were the death of me, so sickly sweet that the aftermath lasted til 4pm.

Dinner with Daniel last week @ Margo's ft. a beef burger and chicken parma. <3

PS. I know the watermarking is annoying but it was preset into my resizing action and well if it's there I'm not going to the effort of removing it.

Caught up with most of my friends from school.

First week of uni has passed, just like that. Oh I'm not going to lie it was slow and soul crushing but hey, I complain about things that other people don't see as vaguely negative.
I have never been quick to judge, done anything particularly outrageous, broken any one's trust or achieved anything great.
I always thought that if I lived without hurting anyone or anything, and always gave others the benefit of the doubt, even when they didn't deserve it, it would mean I would be treated the same way. So I wait and I wait for that day but nothing. Here I am, almost a year has passed since I officially became an 'adult' and nothing has changed. I am neither more or less respected, it's like I've set myself up for complete disappointment.
From where I'm standing, it looks like I've exacerbated my own life.
